Silvia Quarta

Silvia Quarta is arid ecosystem restorer, facilitator, and trainer. Her work integrates ecological restoration, community processes, and experiential learning to regenerate territories and rebuild the relationship between people and their environment. She began by studying international relations and ended up working directly in the field. The path in between—environmental science, water governance with Indigenous communities in Ecuador and Nepal, and years of field restoration in Spain—shaped a practice built on the conviction that change happens from the ground up.

Based at La Junquera, a regenerative farm in the semi-arid highlands of Murcia, Spain, she has trained more than 2000 people in ecosystem restoration through hands-on practice, launched the first mixed training program in Spain for professional restorers, and leads the participatory processes for the restoration of the Quípar River valley, a landscape-scale project to recover 30.000 hectares of agricultural and natural land. She is co-founder of the Alliance for Regenerative Education and member of the Advisory Board of the Malaga Province Environment Foundation. She works with landowners, organizations, and communities who want to care for their land.
